NCA LAUNCHES THE CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2025
Friday, 4 th July 2025 – The National Construction Authority (NCA) today launched the Construction Excellence Awards, a prestigious initiative aimed at recognizing and rewarding excellence, innovation, sustainability, and safety within Kenya’s construction industry. The launch event was held at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi and was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Alice Wahome, EGH and the Principal Secretary for Public Works, Mr. Joel Arumonyang, CBS.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Wahome emphasized the role of the awards in promoting quality and professionalism in the sector. “These awards will not only recognize outstanding projects and individuals but also raise the bar for the entire industry by promoting innovation, safety, and environmental consciousness, under the National Building Code 2024” she stated.
The Construction Excellence Awards are part of NCA’s broader commitment to enhance standards, celebrate achievements, and encourage knowledge sharing within the built environment. The awards will span across various categories, including innovation in construction technology, excellence in safety management, green building practices, and outstanding women and youth-led projects.
NCA Executive Director, Eng. Maurice Akech, reiterated that the awards will be open to public and private sector players and will undergo a rigorous and transparent evaluation process by independent experts. *“We envision an industry that thrives on merit, integrity, and excellence. These awards are a step towards institutionalizing that vision,” he said.
The Construction Excellence Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in October 2025.
