NCA PARTICIPATES IN THE BUILD EXPO 2024 BY THE ASSOCIATION OF ENGINEERING STUDENTS - TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF KENYA (TU-K)
The National Construction Authority (NCA), in partnership with the Association of Engineering Students at The Technical University of Kenya, participated in the Building Expo 2024 exhibition from October 23rd to 25th. The event was themed Innovate, Build, Connect.
The Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) was established through the elevation of Kenya Polytechnic University College (KPUC) to full university status. TU-K was founded as the first technical university in Kenya, in line with the provisions of the proposed Universities Act, 2012. As a new type of institution in Kenya, its mandate is to offer higher education and conduct research in technology. The university was created with the objective of becoming a technological force behind Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the broader economic development of the nation.
The expo provided an excellent platform for networking, fostering connections between future and current industry professionals. It brought together key players in construction, engineering, and other related fields. The event emphasized the importance of infrastructure, sustainable development, and professional ethics, allowing students to gain insights from the construction industries represented in the exhibition.
Participants, including students, alumni, and external guests, had the opportunity to visit the NCA booth to learn about the latest advancements, innovations, and career opportunities in the construction sector. NCA has previously conducted similar programs, allowing students to engage directly with experts and learn about the construction industry at large. These initiatives have been successfully carried out in partnership with various institutions.
